Spode of Sandbach pages and report

I have just loaded up the story of my Spode ancestors, back to Thomas Spode and Jone Read. There is a set of informally written pages, plus a link to a computer-generated report that includes footnotes telling you where I got the stuff. If you have a look at this report, it shows which events were recorded in Sandbach’s parish registers under the spelling “Spode” and which under “Spord” or other variations. How do I know these represent the same name? Because otherwise, nothing makes sense – the two are clearly two halves of the same family – without using the alternative spellings, chunks of the story are missing. With the alternatives, we get a decent story, with no duplicates.
